Over Two Decades of Engineering
Cleaner Oil.

Change Your Thinking…Not Your Oil….!

OUR STORY

Klarol began in 1991 with a simple conviction: India’s industries deserved world-class oil filtration systems, designed and built in India, for Indian operating conditions. Our journey began in collaboration with German precision engineers, enabling us to master the science of oil filtration from first principles.

More than three decades later, that conviction continues to drive everything we do. Every Klarol system is designed, engineered and manufactured in-house at our ISO 9001:2015 certified facility in Eldeco SIDCUL Industrial Park, Sitarganj, Uttarakhand. Each machine reflects decades of field learning, continuous innovation, and the intelligence gathered from over 3,000 installations across India and international markets.

Our leadership in industrial oil filtration gave us the confidence to extend our expertise into commercial kitchens in 2025, helping restaurants, sweet shops, mithai and namkeen manufacturers, and leading hotel chains maintain cleaner frying oil, extend oil life, improve food quality, and increase profitability. The application changed, but the principle remained the same: cleaner oil delivers a better bottom line.

Today, Klarol filtration systems are operating in more than 1600 industrial and 200+ food businesses across India, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Across industries and geographies, we continue to deliver on our promise of “The Complete Clean”.

Our Leadership

Deepak GuptaMD

Klassic Klarol Filters Pvt. Ltd. was founded on the conviction that oil, if kept clean, need never be discarded only reconditioned.
This belief took root with Deepak Gupta, a Marine Engineer who graduated in 1977 from the Directorate of Marine Engineering

Training, Kolkata (now known as DMET–MERI). Sailing as Chief Engineer aboard ocean-going vessels, he saw firsthand how lubricating oils, when kept free of contamination, could retain their additive strength and remain in service for years.

A ship’s main engine, he knew, could run on the same ~20,000 litres of oil for over nine years provided the oil stayed clean.

Carrying this insight forward, he accepted an invitation in 1990 from two German firms to visit Germany and witness the ‘Klarol’ oil-cleaning system in action technology that extended vehicle engine oil life by more than eighteen times, and successfully cleaned water-emulsified hydraulic oils in manufacturing machinery.

On 13th March 1991, Klassic Klarol Filters Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated. By June 1992, the Reserve Bank of India had approved the MOU that Deepak Gupta signed with the German firms to manufacture ‘Klarol’ in India.

Despite the many challenges of building an entirely new category, Deepak Gupta together with Amit Gupta and the Klarol team fully indigenised the ‘Klarol’ Oil Cleaning System, developing numerous models to serve a diverse range of industrial and frying oil filtration needs.

Today, more than 3000 Klarol machines have been dispatched to customers across India and abroad a testament to a simple engineering philosophy “First observed on the high seas: Change Your Thinking… Not Your Oil“!

Amit Gupta Founder

Since co-founding Klassic Klarol Filters in 1991, Amit Gupta has spent over three decades helping industries rethink how they manage oil. Under his leadership, Klarol has grown into one of India's trusted names in oil filtration, with more than 3,000 machines deployed across India and overseas.

Amit’s philosophy is simple yet transformative: “Oil doesn’t need to be replaced as often as it needs to be properly filtered. This belief has guided Klarol’s mission of helping businesses extend oil life, reduce equipment wear, minimise downtime, and lower operating costs while reducing environmental impact through responsible oil conservation.

Today, Klarol’s filtration solutions serve a wide range of industries from steel, cement, power, paper and plastics to food processing, QSRs, sweetshops and namkeen manufacturers. By applying the same engineering principles to both industrial lubricants and frying oils, the company delivers measurable value across diverse applications.

Working closely with customers and engineers, Amit remains deeply involved in product development and innovation. Built on a foundation of German engineering expertise and refined for Indian operating conditions, Klarol continues to embody its enduring philosophy: “Change Your Thinking… Not Your Oil!” a commitment to smarter maintenance, sustainable operations, and engineering excellence.
